PostSubject: Episode 4 "To the Depths of the Earnest Prayer"   Tue 19 May - 13:54

Quote :
Teito begins to talk with the old man, talking about how badly he wishes to see Mikage. The old man then says "He will grant your wish", placing an odd symbol on Teito's neck while Teito has a vision of running toward Mikage. Just as he is about to reach his hand, the flower that Labrador gave him from before stops him in his tracks, and he realizes that the Bishops are there in front of him. Frau demands that Teito shouldn't give into the darkness, and grows a scythe from his hand and begins to attack the old man, who turns out to be a "Kor". The Bishops fight the man, and while Teito wants to help, Castor tells him that he is unable to use Zaiphon as he would only hurt the old man's soul. The Kor in the meantime, demands that he wants Teito's soul as he is satisfied with it and that his "master" would be happy to know if he got his hands on it. Frau however, manages to release the Kor from the old man's soul and then drags Teito to his room to get rid of the symbol on his neck. Frau is surprised to see that Teito is able to see the scythe he wields and also the fact that he is mentally stable even after receiving the Kor's curse. Teito then wakes up in the morning, and asks Castor what a Kor is. Castor explains that before one is born, he is granted three wishes by God Himself- however, when he is born into the world, he forgets these wishes. Kor are creatures that tamper with men's desires- they grant the man's wish, but he or she is then put into a string of dark events in which the person is never satisfied with his or her wishes and eventually falls into darkness, becoming a host for the Kor. Castor then tells Teito that the purpose of being a Bishop is to eliminate Kor. Teito then asks why men forget about their three wishes, and Castor replies that it's "fun" that way- finding your happiness and your own wishes according to your own strength and beliefs. When man has found, or has been granted his three wishes, he will die and once again will come back to God's side, and be reincarnated. Back at the Academy, Mikage makes his final choice: he won't betray his best friend, knowing that his family would understand that a guy like him could never betray a friend. An enraged Ayanami releases a surge of Zaiphon at Mikage, ending with a cliffhanger.

Pretty long description, and it seems very dramatic. I haven't watched this episode, but I'll try to work my way around to.
