www.mangafox.com is defiantly the best manga site.
It makes it much easier to keep up to date with new chapters if you bookmark the manga.
it tells you when you last accessed the manga and when the latest chapter was released.

I suggest creating an account and making mymanga/myanime lists, its really helpful it keeping track of every series you've seen all in one place. It also has reviews, interviews with mangaka, latest anime news, weekly articles and more. I find it so handy :)

As someone who always suggests legal venues to view anime, I suggest checking out crunchyroll.com. There is a diverse selection of anime, and the good news is it's all legal, with even simucasts going on.

Also, as another venue of free legal anime, KyotoAnimation and Funimation both have Youtube channels, with legal videos of their anime being uploaded.

And both Viz and Funimation have some free videos uploaded on their servers, too.

(I'm sorry if this annoys anyone, but I always need to mention it. Legal is the best way!)
