| Well, I have no idea where this would go, actually, but since it does have pictures in it I thought it would go in the manga section.
Light novels are basically novels with some pictures in them. Most of the manga or anime we read/watch is based off a light novel.
So, does anyone else read them?

| Yes, they are. Light novels are also called Visual Novels, if that helps any. | |

| Well, yes and no. A lot of anime/manga is shorter than the light novel series (for instance, Toradora lasted 26 episodes, there are twelve light novels).
What I would say is that a lot of stuff happens in the light novels that doesn't happen in the anime. Most anime only cover a portion of the light novel series. For instance, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya only covers the first light novel (I think). For the most part, when the anime/manga run they are pretty accurate to the light novel series.

| I think that there are currently twelve novels, and the series has most probably ended. However, only nine novels actually relate to the plot, the others are what you would consider filler. | |

But my favorites are TMoHS, XXXHolic, Euphoric Field, and Fullmetal Alchemist~ Because you read Japanese....*cries* I own the first Haruhi novel in English. My favorites so far would be Chrome-Shelled Regios and Zaregoto.

| Well, Chrome-Shelled Regios is just so...cool. I mean, it has an awesome plot and writing style.
As for Zaregoto, I love the way NisiOisin writes. He makes no sense half the time, but I have to read the entire book.

| I haven't read many light novels, but so far I like them. Ballad of a Shinigami is the only one I've read so far, but it's really good ^.^ | |
