Manga - Anime Relation Empty
PostSubject: Manga - Anime Relation   Manga - Anime Relation EmptyFri 10 Jul - 18:21

I know that some anime follow the manga's plot exactly. I know that some anime do not follow the plot of the manga. Which of the two is more popular? Are there any famous examples? Do you know why it happens?

Well I like the anime Steel Angel Kurumi so I looked for the manga but I found out that the manga was actuly being written while the series was being animated so the story plots are quite different.

Well, it's hard to say which one's more popular, but there are some fans who really want the anime to follow the manga, and vice versa.

A famous instance would probably be the Rozen Maiden anime, which completely diverged from the somewhere around, oh, episode five. Then a second season of Rozen Maiden was released, which introduced a completely new villain, who never showed up in the manga, and didn't include the main villain that was in the manga. There was also a two-episode OVA release about Sugintou and her such things, but that might've taken source material from the manga.

It all depends in my opinion. If the manga has a great storyline, then I think the anime should follow the manga and vice-versa. Tho sometimes both can be awesome in their own way.

What about when the anime is better than the manga because of a changed storyline? Revolutionary Girl Utena was this way.

Well, Air Gear was a very popular manga, because of it's stylish art and fanservice scenes. The Air Gear anime took out the fanservice and changed the storyline, making it very unpopular among fans of the series.
